Content strategy

Do not worry about what to post; let your plan be ready.

We prepare a one-month content plan based on your goals, sector and calendar. The topic, format, draft copy and date of every post are set, and you can carry it out with your own team.

  • Ready-made posting calendar
  • Topic and format suggestions
  • Draft copy included
  • Your team can carry it out
In which cases?

You have someone to post, but direction is missing.

The content plan service is for those who can handle production and posting themselves but want to be clear about what to post, when and in what order.

01

Teams with in-house staff

You have a marketing or design team, but you want outside planning support that sets the monthly direction and adds variety to the topics.

02

Those who run their own account

As a business owner, you post from your phone. Instead of thinking every day about what to post, you want a ready list at hand.

03

Before a busy period

The season opening, New Year, a holiday or a new product period is approaching, and you want to plan that period's content in advance.

04

Accounts looking for direction

You post regularly, but the content feels disconnected. You need a framework that makes clear what the account is about.

05

Those moving away from an agency

You have decided to run social media in-house and want your team to have a solid roadmap during the transition.

06

Consultants and freelancers

You want to grow your personal brand, but find it hard to plan which topics to use and in which order to present your expertise.

Process

From strategy to calendar, a plan you can put into practice.

A plan is not a random list of topics made at a desk. We first clarify the goal and the audience, then turn them into dates and formats.

We talk through the month's goals, the products or services you want to highlight, campaign periods and your constraints.

Scope

What we do and what we do not do.

The output of this service is a plan ready for execution; design and publishing are outside the scope unless requested separately.

Included

  • Monthly goal and priority-setting meeting
  • Designing the content pillars and format distribution
  • Placing special days, seasons and campaign dates into the plan
  • Topic heading and draft caption for each post
  • Short shooting or design direction for visuals and videos
  • Recommended posting days and story ideas
  • A handover meeting in which the plan is explained to your team

What we don't do

  • Design production, shooting and editing are not included in this service
  • Posts are not published and the account is not monitored
  • Replying to comments and messages is out of scope
  • No numerical commitments are made for the results of carrying out the plan
Carrying out the plan determines the result

Even a carefully designed calendar cannot show its effect if it is not applied regularly. If you will carry it out yourself, we recommend setting aside your team's time according to the plan.

Guide

How is a monthly content plan prepared, and what should it include?

A monthly content plan is a written roadmap that determines in advance what a brand will post on social media over one month, in which format, on which day and for what purpose. A good plan is not merely a list of dates; it explains why each post is there and contains enough detail for the person carrying it out to proceed on their own.

Are a content plan and a content calendar the same thing?

Although they are used interchangeably in everyday language, there is a small difference. The content plan is the strategic part: it sets which themes the account will cover, which formats will dominate and what the month's priority message is. The content calendar is those decisions distributed across days. In the file we deliver at Sova Ajans, the two come together: first a short strategy summary, then a calendar that proceeds post by post.

What should a one-month content plan contain?

For a plan to be workable, the questions each row answers must be clear. The plans we prepare include the following headings:

  • Date and day: The day of posting and, if needed, a suggested time window.
  • Format: Single post, carousel, Reels, story or live broadcast.
  • Content pillar: Which main theme the post serves, for example promotion, information, behind the scenes or a customer question.
  • Topic and key message: A one-sentence summary of the post.
  • Draft copy: The caption and a short call to action.
  • Visual direction: A short note telling the designer or the person shooting what to prepare.

In addition, at the top of the plan we write the month's priority message, the product or service to be highlighted and the indicators to track. This way, the person carrying out the calendar keeps the month's overall purpose in mind without getting stuck on individual rows. For stories, instead of a strict daily plan we recommend a weekly pool of ideas; stories are a more spontaneous format, and staying flexible suits their natural flow.

Why do content pillars matter?

When many accounts proceed without a plan, they repeat the same kind of content: either always product photos or always campaign announcements. Content pillars prevent this imbalance. For a cafe, for example, the pillars could be menu suggestions, the preparation process, the atmosphere of the venue, introducing the team and questions customers often ask. When it is decided in advance how many times each pillar appears during the month, the account looks both varied and consistent. Followers also grasp quickly what the account is about.

Alongside the pillars, we also plan the format distribution. Short videos can stand out for discovery, carousels are suited to conveying information and being saved, and single images are practical for announcements and product presentations. We decide how much of each format to include by looking at which format your team can produce comfortably. A plan with Reels every day for a team that struggles to shoot video may look good on paper but cannot be sustained in practice.

Carrying out the plan with your own team

The key difference of this service is that execution can be left to you. That is why we prepare the plan in a form simple enough for someone outside the agency to read and apply easily. At handover, we hold a short meeting with your team and explain which content is planned for which purpose. We also share a few practical suggestions for situations you may encounter during execution:

  1. Prepare the week's production a day in advance; producing and posting on the same day leads to delays.
  2. If you miss a post in the plan, move that content to the next suitable slot instead of shifting the whole calendar.
  3. If a topic arises during the month, add it to the plan, but do not make so many off-plan posts that they upset the balance.
  4. At the end of the month, note which content was saved more and brought in messages; the next plan will be more accurate with these notes.

If you would like to leave the entire execution to us, the same plan can also be carried out together with design, publishing and monitoring as part of the social media management service.

On-site and online planning

The plan we prepare is delivered as a table or calendar file that can be shared easily and that everyone on your team can see at the same time. With businesses in Sakarya and the surrounding area, we can hold the briefing meeting and the handover presentation face to face; especially for location-based businesses, seeing the business on site enriches the content ideas. With businesses across Turkey, the whole process runs online: meetings are held by video, the plan is delivered as a shareable file and revisions are completed digitally.

Common planning mistakes

  • Unrealistic frequency: Planning more content than your team can produce leads to the plan being abandoned mid-month.
  • Getting stuck on special days: Filling the calendar only with celebratory posts leaves no room for the brand to tell its own story.
  • Posting without a goal: Every piece of content should have a purpose, such as informing, building trust or prompting action.
  • Guessing the audience: Topics written without examining what the target audience asks and how they react in comments often fall flat. Incoming messages and frequently asked questions are among the most productive sources of topics.
  • Leaving the plan with one person: If the calendar sits only on one person's computer, posting stops when that person goes on leave. The plan should be somewhere everyone on the team can access.
  • Never updating the plan: Repeating the same template every month gradually lowers followers' interest.
Note: A content plan gives direction, but reach and engagement results depend on the quality of execution, the sector and the platforms' algorithms. For this reason, our plans propose measurable indicators rather than numerical targets.

What is the difference between a monthly content plan and social media management?
With the content plan service, we deliver a ready-to-use strategy and calendar; you do the design and posting. With the management service, we take on the entire job of planning, production, publishing and monitoring.
How many posts does the plan include?
The number of posts is set according to your team's production capacity and your goals. We do not impose a fixed number; we recommend a frequency that can be sustained regularly.
Is caption copy included in the plan?
Yes. For each post, we write a draft caption and a short call to action. You can edit the copy to match your own style and use it.
Do you prepare the designs as well?
This service does not include design production; for each post we give a short direction note for your designer or the person shooting. If you would like design support, we can plan it separately.
Can changes be made after the plan is delivered?
Yes. We do one revision round before handover. If an important topic arises during the month, we also advise on how to add it to the plan.
Can I get the content plan service online?
Yes. The briefing meeting, handover and revisions are carried out by video call and shared files. We can work from anywhere in Turkey; face-to-face meetings are also possible in Sakarya and the surrounding area.
